The first Bass , produced in series, was the Fender Precision Bass. He came in 1951 in the shops. The term precision refers to the fact that this bass (as opposed to bass) had frets and thus access to the sounds the player easier to be accurate.
Leo Fender was basically about the basic construction of an electric guitar to the bass, modified e but the individual components such as body, neck, and pickups (including pick-ups) so that they deep n frequencies and the higher mechanical stress endured by the string tension. A big difference from the double bass is also the fact that basses are played more horizontal, while double basses playing vertical (upright) on hold. There are also some players like as Alex Webster, holding the bass almost vertically.
A detail of the Fender Precision Series was the unconventional electronics, which used the cover as mass line and therefore poorer with fewer lines, but also noise - insulation in comparison to modern n instruments got along.
